HA - AKA Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally throughout our bodies and exists in our skin as part of our extracellular matrix. It functions as part of our water management system helping keep our skin moisturised from the inside and prevents trans-epidermal water loss.

We naturally replicate this molecule and do so less over time as we age.

Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar-chain ingredient which creates a frame for binding water. Scientists have found that Hyaluronic Acid's water-binding capacity is influenced both by pH and molecular size meaning that different formulations will create different opportunities to deliver hydration. In addition Hyaluronic Acid has also been found to act as an osmotic pump that can deliver water-soluble actives deep into the skin.

Maintaining our skins internal moisture balance is essential. When added to skin care products, Hyaluronic Acid traps water molecules from the product and pushes them into the skin cells. These super-hydrated cells give the skin a much smoother and more radiant look. Hyaluronic Acid can be found in many of our products including our Signature HA Serum, Restorative Moisturiser and Eye Cream to name a few. 🌸🌸🌸 #loutheraaustralia #loutheraaustraliahyaluronicacid
